Life. We gotta live it! And no matter how many dumb decisions you make, you're always going to have to look in the mirror and say, "I love this person!" (At least you should anyways)
So let's play catch up, I've not been posting and the world hasn't been the same without me, I feel it! My days have changed, I'm not in the newsroom I once had the privilege to dwell in, but the words of many great businessmen before me buzz through my ears. One man in particular, who always listened to my ideas and said these words "Just do it!"

I was recruited from a karaoke stage to be a journalist. Yes, that's how I met Bernal Smith. After having visited this place a few times, we were growing accustomed to seeing each other. I'm supposing he'd done some research on me. "Are you going to do a poem tonight?" He said, standing behind the dj booth, crowd buzzing, him smiling. I half smiled grabbing the mic, I take my singing of karaoke very seriously, so the half non smile was for distracting me. After I finished my rendition of Rihanna, he tried to catch me for conversation. "You write - yeah?" with a drink in his hand. "I mean, I teach others how to." I had no clue who he was, or why the chat was occurring, so I asked around about him that night. Cries ranged from calling him The Black Media Maven, "he could be the next mayor if he wants!" and "You take care of him!" I had my hand on his shoulder now, trying to keep up with him in the crowded room as it was another day, another event, and he decided I was his newest writer. "She's over media and entertainment!" he laughed, and had me working on getting the story from the singer who flew in from Chicago to perform. I just happened to bring a pen and pad with me that day to a bar, go figure!
From here, I could go on with all the ideas, concepts, and conversations I had with this mogul, but then how could I tell you of all the fun political, party, and education topics I've been on? I guess that's how series are born.
Oh, in totally non related news, Grant Cardone of the 10X Rule challenged me to sale some stuff. So ugh, yeah, there's that. I'm ordering a few books and calendars, seeing if it works for me and a friend, then, sharing the results with you! Honestly, I would love to share organizational tips with urban kids 'cause they don't teach how to have a successful life in the hood! :I
In real time, I'm catching up on follow ups as one of my clients is working on his comedy skit for tonight. Did you know that public speaking is the number one fear in America? Totally not spiders, or death. Shocking! I accidently said I'd be performing before thinking about it during one call today, so now let's add the pressure of being funny on purpose to my to do list! Cheers to a day of planning youth events, honoring memories, and overcoming fears.
Wanna hear more? Check back tomorrow. I'll be around.
10X Everything!
